About the artist
Contemporary Visual Artist
Hybrid art: where traditional dip pens meet with digital play to create vibrant and expressive artworks.
Andri is a Manchester-based artist and was born in Crouch End, North London in 1970.
Formerly a sociologist, Andri’s accidental passion for doing art came later in life in her 40s, when accompanying a friend to life-drawing classes at the Lowry, Salford.
Although Andri uses a mixture of media, her primary tools include dip-pens and acrylic inks finished with with digital twist using her mobile phone. Andri is well known on the Manchester maker market scenes for her animal and portraiture art. Her work is instantly recognisable for its vibrancy, energy and expression.
Doing art is very much playtime for Andri. Her affinity with animals and her contradictory love for pop-culture are often reflected in her expressive style of artwork.
