About the artist
Dr ASP aka Andri Soteri-Proctor
UK Contemporary Visual Artist
Hybrid art: where traditional dip pens meet with digital play to create vibrant and expressive artworks.
Formerly a sociologist, Andri’s accidental passion for doing art came later in life in her 40s when accompanying a friend to life-drawing classes at the Lowry, Salford.
Although Andri uses a mixture of media, her primary tools are dip-pens and acrylic inks. Using her original artwork as a reference point, she then completes her images a with digital twist using her mobile phone. She refers to this process as hybrid art and digital infusion.
She first made an appearance at the Manchester Makers markets in 2016 and although she continues with a few markets her work can be found in independent shops and galleries in Chester, Manchester and Wales. As she moves to the Happy Valley of W.Yorkshire she plans to extend her appearance across this part of the UK.
She is a prolific creator with expanding collections of animal, retro-cartoon and portraiture artwork. Some of these are available online as giclée prints. An exclusive collection is also available on canvas through selected artisan shops and directly from the artist.
Andri's newest collection 'Before we lose them' will be released in July. It raises questions about the footprints we leave behind, the damaging effects of progress on our environment and whether 'rewilding' can work alongside continued priorities of world leaders and human's destructive activities.
